Transform Your Digestive Health Today!

How Does GutBrainA™ Work?

GutBrainA™ represents the connection of the Gut–Brain Axis — the constant two-way communication between your digestive system, nervous system and brain.

At the heart of this connection is the Enteric Nervous System (ENS), sometimes referred to as the “second brain.” The ENS is an extensive network of neurons within the gastrointestinal tract that helps regulate important digestive functions including intestinal movement, secretion and communication of sensations from the gut.

Your digestive system doesn’t operate independently from your brain.

The Enteric Nervous System contains hundreds of millions of nerve cells embedded throughout the gastrointestinal tract and communicates continuously with the central nervous system through the gut–brain axis.

This communication helps influence:

  • Gut motility and the movement of food through the digestive tract
  • Sensations arising from the gut
  • Digestive secretions
  • Bowel function
  • The body’s response to digestive discomfort
  • Communication between the gut and brain

When someone has IBS, this communication can become altered. The nervous system may become more sensitive to normal digestive sensations, meaning stretching, pressure, gas or intestinal movement may be experienced more intensely.

This is known as visceral hypersensitivity and is one of the important mechanisms associated with IBS.

Scientifically Backed Research

Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy has been clinically studied for several decades as a treatment approach for IBS.

Research has found meaningful improvements in overall IBS symptoms, abdominal pain and quality of life following Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy, with many studies reporting benefits that continue after the treatment programme has finished.

Importantly, Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy is not based on the idea that IBS symptoms are “all in your head.”

IBS is now understood as a disorder of gut–brain interaction, involving complex communication between the gastrointestinal tract and nervous system.

Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy works with this connection.

What’s inside GutBrainA™?

GutBrainA™ is a structured 8-week Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy programme designed to help you understand the gut-brain connection and use hypnotherapy techniques to support a calmer, more balanced relationship between your brain, nervous system and digestive system.

The programme builds progressively, with repetition at its core. Each week has its own How-To Guide, so you know exactly which audios to listen to and how often.

Getting Started with GutBrainA™ — Understanding Your Gut & Brain

Before beginning the 8-week journey, you’ll learn the foundations behind GutBrainA, including:

• The gut-brain connection explained
• How Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy works
• What hypnotherapy is and what to expect
• Key clinical research and trials behind Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy
• GutBrainA Quiz to test your knowledge
• Downloadable PDF guides and printables
• Initial evaluation and symptom tracking forms

Your evaluation forms allow you to track your experience throughout the programme and see how things change from beginning to end.

Weeks 1 – 2 — Gut Brain Flow

The first stage is about creating the foundations for change.

During these weeks, the hypnotherapy sessions focus on clearing and releasing the past, calming the nervous system and beginning to reconnect the communication between your gut and brain.

You’ll begin developing a regular listening practice while becoming more aware of the connection between your nervous system, thoughts, emotions and digestive responses.

Weeks 3 – 4 — Balance & Regulation

Now we begin introducing specific hypnotherapy tools designed to support the enteric nervous system and the normal functions of the digestive system.

The audios use guided imagery, relaxation and gut-focused suggestions to work with areas such as gut sensitivity, digestive rhythm, movement, comfort and gut-brain communication.

You’ll continue incorporating sessions from Weeks 1 and 2 because repetition is an important part of the GutBrainA programme.

Weeks 5 – 8 — Targeted Gut Support

During Weeks 5–8, your programme becomes more specific to the digestive symptoms you experience.

You’ll be able to select targeted Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy sessions for symptoms such as:

• Constipation
• Diarrhoea
• Mixed bowel patterns
• Bloating
• Abdominal discomfort and sensitivity

At the same time, you’ll continue rotating the foundational audios from Weeks 1–4.

Rather than constantly moving on to something new, GutBrainA™ is designed around repetition, reinforcement and consistency, allowing you to revisit the techniques that resonate most with you.

Track Your Progress

Evaluation forms are included throughout the programme so you can reflect on your symptoms, wellbeing and progress.

At the end of Week 8, you’ll complete your final evaluation and compare it with where you began.

Monthly Live GutBrainA Zoom Sessions

Your GutBrainA™ membership also gives you access to monthly live Zoom GutBrainA™ hypno-meditation sessions, giving you another opportunity to relax, reconnect and continue your practice.

Extra Nervous System Audios

Your journey doesn’t have to finish at Week 8.

Inside the Extras section, you’ll find additional hypno-meditation audios designed to help calm and regulate the nervous system and support your ongoing wellbeing.

Continue using your favourite GutBrainA sessions as part of your regular routine and return to them whenever you feel you need additional gut-brain support.

8 weeks. A guided pathway. One connected approach to your gut and brain.

Improved gut–brain communication — supporting communication between the brain, central nervous system and ENS.

Digestive regulation — targeted sessions work with imagery and suggestions relating to bowel motility, constipation, diarrhoea and mixed bowel patterns.

A calmer nervous system — encouraging relaxation and reducing the heightened state of alert that can accompany chronic digestive symptoms.

Greater confidence in your gut — helping reduce fear and hypervigilance surrounding digestive sensations and bowel habits.

Improved quality of life — helping you feel less controlled by your digestive system and more confident participating in everyday life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cancel GutBrainA™ at any time?

Yes. You can cancel your GutBrainA™ membership at any time. Once cancelled, your membership will remain active until the end of your current monthly or yearly billing cycle, so you can continue accessing the programme until that date. Your membership will then end and you will not be charged for the next billing cycle.

What is GutBrainA™?

GutBrainA™ is an 8-week Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy programme designed around the connection of the Gut–Brain Axis. It uses hypnotherapy, guided imagery and deep relaxation to work with communication between the brain, nervous system and digestive system.

What is the Enteric Nervous System?

The Enteric Nervous System (ENS) is the extensive network of nerve cells within your gastrointestinal tract and is sometimes referred to as your “second brain.”

It plays an important role in digestive function and communicates continuously with your brain through the gut–brain axis. GutBrainA™ uses Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy to support this communication and encourage a calmer, more regulated response to digestive sensations.

How much time do I need each day?

Approximately 30 minutes a day. Consistency is important, particularly during the initial 8-week programme. Choose a time when you can relax without interruption. Many people find listening before sleep or upon waking works well. Duration times are on each audio so you will know how long it goes for.

Do I have to complete GutBrainA in eight weeks?

The core GutBrainA™ programme is structured over eight weeks, but your journey doesn’t have to finish there. Your membership gives you continued access to the sessions for as long as your subscription remains active, allowing you to revisit your favourite audios and continue using them as part of your wellbeing routine.

What types of digestive symptoms does GutBrainA focus on?

The programme includes sessions covering common IBS experiences including constipation, diarrhoea, mixed bowel patterns, bloating, abdominal discomfort, pain, digestive motility and visceral sensitivity.

There are also sessions focusing on nervous system regulation, relaxation, confidence in your gut and the gut–brain connection.

Is GutBrainA™ just for people with IBS?

GutBrainA has been created primarily around Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy for IBS and disorders of gut–brain interaction. It is beneficial for a variety of digestive disorders but if you have new, unexplained or persistent digestive symptoms, it is important to have these medically assessed rather than assuming they are IBS.

Is Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy scientifically studied?

Yes. Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy has been clinically studied for decades and research has demonstrated meaningful improvements in IBS symptoms and quality of life for many participants.

GutBrainA brings the principles of Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy into a structured programme you can access from home.

Does hypnotherapy mean I will be asleep or lose control?

No. Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed and focused state of awareness. You remain in control and can hear the session, move, open your eyes or stop listening whenever you choose. Clients have found that it is so relaxing they often full asleep especially if listening to it in bed.

What if I can’t be hypnotised?

You don’t need to achieve a particular “hypnotised feeling” for the programme. Simply allowing yourself to relax, listen and engage with the imagery and suggestions is enough. Like many skills, becoming deeply absorbed in a hypnotherapy session can become easier with practice.

When will I notice a difference?

Everyone responds differently, which is why GutBrainA doesn’t promise a particular result or timeframe. Some people may notice changes earlier, while for others the process is more gradual.

The programme is designed to be followed consistently for eight weeks, giving your brain and nervous system repeated exposure to the therapeutic suggestions.

What if I miss a day?

Don’t worry. Simply continue with your programme the following day. Consistency is more important than perfection.

Can I listen while driving or working?

No. GutBrainA™ sessions are designed to create a deeply relaxed state and should never be listened to while driving, operating machinery or doing anything that requires your full attention.

Listen somewhere safe and comfortable where you can relax without being disturbed.

What if I have ADHD or find it difficult to sit still and listen?

For some people with ADHD, sitting still for a 30-minute audio can be challenging — and that’s absolutely okay.

If you’re an active relaxer, you don’t necessarily need to lie down or sit completely still. Simply put on your headphones and listen to your GutBrainA™ session while doing a gentle, familiar activity that doesn’t require concentration, such as walking somewhere safe, folding washing or doing simple household chores.

The important thing is to find a way of listening that works for you and allows you to engage with the audio comfortably.

For your safety, never listen to GutBrainA™ while driving, operating machinery, cycling, cooking with sharp or hot equipment, or doing anything that requires your full attention and focus. The hypnotherapy audios are designed to encourage a deeply relaxed state, so only listen while doing activities where becoming very relaxed is safe.

You don’t have to relax in the same way as everyone else. Find what works for your brain and your body.

What’s the difference between the monthly and yearly memberships?

Both options give you access to GutBrainA.

The monthly membership renews each month on your original purchase date and offers greater flexibility. The price remains at whatever you signed up for, so the earlier you join the better.

The yearly membership gives you 12 months of uninterrupted access and offers best overall value compared with paying month by month.

Does my subscription automatically renew?

Yes. Your subscription will automatically renew using your chosen payment method unless you cancel it.

Monthly memberships renew each month on the anniversary of your purchase date, while yearly memberships renew annually on the anniversary of your original purchase date.

Can GutBrainA™ replace medical treatment?

No. GutBrainA™ is a complementary wellbeing programme
